Maruti Ertiga is the new MPV from Maruti Suzuki India. Ertiga concept was first shown in Auto Expo 2010 and was called R3 concept.

The production version of this R3 concept was shown in Auto Expo 2012.

As per Maruti, Ertiga is developed for the people who enjoys outdoor trips, wants to be different from the crowd and wants a MPV which can easily accomodate a family.

Maruti Ertiga designed is based on the new swift platform which is extended to accommodate an additional third row. Maruti Ertiga comes with all new K14 petrol engine.

This engine is 1.4 litre unit producing 98.3 bhp at 6000 rpm and 13.25 kgm of torque at 4000 rpm. The power is sufficient to move 7 big adults with ease.

Maruti Ertiga Diesel comes with very popular and reliable 1.3 DDiS diesel engine with variable valve timing and producing 88.5 bhp at 4000 rpm and 20.39 kgm of torque at 1750 rpm.

This diesel unit is also fitted on SX4 Diesel and Fiat Punto, Linea 90 HP models.

Both engines are highly fuel efficient. Average of Petrol unit is 16 km to a litre and diesel unit gives an impressive average of 21 kmpl.

Both engines are also very powerful and can reach 100 kmph mark in just 15 seconds. These performance figures are pretty impressive considering a 4.2 mtr long 7 seater MPV.

The front design of Ertiga looks exactly like the new Swift. The front fog lamps seems to be copied from the Toyota Corolla Altis.

Same goes for the rear tail lamps which resembles to the Honda Jazz. But overall the looks of Eritga are fresh and eye catching. The interior of Maruti Ertiga are exactly same that of new swift.

Its refreshing and built from high quality materials. You enjoy sitting inside the car.

To ensure car rides well Maruti has given 15 inch wheels on Ertiga with 185 tread. This has enhanced the overall handling and performance of the Ertiga.

The ground clearance is also at 185 mm which makes it a true MPV. You can easily ride through the rough roads or can take it for a soft off roading as well.

On the safety front Maruti Ertiga comes with ABS, EBD, Brake Assist, Engine Immobilizer, High tensile roof and airbags. All these safety features makes it a very safe MPV.

For entertainment Maruti Ertiga comes prefitted with 2 DIN CD Player system with USB, AUX and it has powerful 4+2 speakers.
